Diabetes symtoms and treatments: What are the symtoms of diabeties, Type 1 and 2?
Type 1 Diabetes
Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease in which the body's
immune system damages the cells in your pancreas (Islet cells) that make
insulin. Because insulin is necessary to process blood sugar, this leaves
people with high blood sugar.
Type 1 diabetes may have noticeable early symptoms that
often come on suddenly. These include:
Increased thirst
Increased urination
Constant hunger
Weight loss
Blurred vision
Fatigue, or a feeling of being tired
Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 diabetes is when the body does not make enough
insulin or cannot use the insulin it produces well enough to keep the body
working well.
Type 2 diabetes may come without any symtoms or symtoms
may develop gradually. This form has many different causes and symptoms. For
most people with type 2 diabetes, it is a combination of the body resisting the
normal actions of insulin in muscle, fat, and the liver, and not producing
enough insulin. Symptoms of type 2 diabetes may include:
Frequent yeast infections
Very slow healing of wounds or sores
Nausea
Fatigue, or a feeling of being tired
Increased urination
Increased thirst
Weight loss
Blurred vision
If
you have these symtoms, or feel you could be at risk of type one or
type two diabeties, see a health care professional immediately.
